The Traction Plus Story
15 Years and Counting!

Since 1990, Traction Plus has been researching and implementing ways to prevent slip-and-fall accidents. In the beginning, Traction Plus introduced its first products, TP-321 and TP-421, a two-part floor treatment and maintenance system designed to prevent slips and falls on ceramic and quarry tile floors.

In 1994, a patented-technology was developed that allowed microscopic crystals to be incorporated into polymer-based floor finish. Traction Plus Slip Shield Floor Finish (TP-2000) and related finish products were introduced. This same year, the company introduced a line of three-sided wet floor signs called Safety Tents.

In 1996, after studying the causes of slips and falls, Traction Plus introduced its own line of slip-resistant footwear and accessories to compliment and address the systematic nature of the problem. The Traction Plus Safe Surface System was born!

In 1997, Traction Plus opened its Consulting division, offering both safety consulting and expert witness services.

In 1999, Traction Plus expanded its footwear line into Canada via Wal Mart Stores. This same year, the company entered into several licensing agreements which released its TP-2000 floor finish line and Safety Tent products.

In 2003, Traction Plus merged its best-selling products, TP-321 and TP-421 into a single, easy-to-use new product called TP-121. One of the first ever floor care products to become certified as "High-Traction" by the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI).

2005 will also bring new product introductions including a line of "High Traction" no-wax, commercial-grade resilient flooring. Stay tuned!
